TRANSPORTING PETS – GENERAL GUIDELINES

• Measuring the pet & and procure an IATA specifies crate. Our Recommended brand of crates are Petmate/Varipet/SkyKennel for the sturdiness and safety compared to other manufacturers.

• Microchip Implantation: Microchip should be an ISO 11784/785 microchip (15 digits) and must be inserted before Rabies vaccination. Your veterinarian would be able to assist in implanting it. Alternatively, you may contact us for procuring a Microchip.

• Dogs - Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza and Parvovirus (DHLPP). Recommended Bordetella & Corona for the protection of the Pet during travel.• Cats: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and Panleukopenia (FVRCP).   These should be valid at the time of import and administered no less than 30 days before the export date for maximum effectiveness.

STEP 5: Vaccination

• Dogs – Distemper, Hepatitis, Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza and Parvovirus (DHLPP). Recommended Bordetella & Corona for the protection of the Pet during travel.• Cats: Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis, Calicivirus and Panleukopenia (FVRCP).   These should be valid at the time of import and administered no less than 30 days before the export date for maximum effectiveness.
It’s recommended to draw a blood sample after at least 30 days and before the expiry
of the Anti-Rabies vaccination to test for Antibody Titration (Rabies Titer Test).The sample must be sent to an EU (European Union) approved Laboratory for the test
& the acceptable result to seek is >=0.5 IU/ml.

STEP 6: Rabies Serology Titration Test (For Dogs & Cats) & Other tests for Dogs. Dogs & Cats have an adequate rabies serology titer result from an approved laboratory, drawn at least 90 days and no more than 1 year before arrival?

• Choosing the right airlines (Routing, Layovers, Time of Travel & weather conditions) as per pet & their crate size.

• Vet check within 10 days before travel date and have the Veterinarian Issue/Endorse the following documents -  Health and Fitness certificate, Microchip Certificate, Sterilisation certificate, External & Internal Parasite Treatment Certificate

STEP 10: External & Internal Parasite treatment.

•This is a standard Health Certificate, which needs to be completed by you or your veterinarian & has to be endorsed by the Government Veterinarian at the Ministry of Animal Quarantine & Certification Services, Government of India, or equivalent Govt. body in the city of embarkation. • This certificate is valid for ten days from the date of issue by the official/Government veterinarian at the Ministry of Animal Quarantine & Certification Services, Government of India, or equivalent Govt. body in the city of embarkation until the date of the checks at the Poland point of entry.

STEP 11: EU Health Certificate.

•This is a standard Health Certificate, which needs to be completed by you or your veterinarian & has to be endorsed by the Government Veterinarian at the Ministry of Animal Quarantine & Certification Services, Government of India, or equivalent Govt. body in the city of embarkation. • This certificate is valid for ten days from the date of issue by the official/Government veterinarian at the Ministry of Animal Quarantine & Certification Services, Government of India, or equivalent Govt. body in the city of embarkation until the date of the checks at the Poland point of entry.

For pets to fly "non-commercially," they must fly within five days of their owner. If
you can't meet this 5-Day Rule, your move will be considered commercial, which
changes the EU import requirements and timeline. Contact your relocation
coordinator to discuss commercial moves.
